Parents

Parents are the most significant adults in a child's life who play an important role in the early educational development of their children. We work together with parents and families to ensure that children reach their developmental and educational potential. It is our goal to bring a high-quality early childhood education to your children and families in a safe and caring environment.

Our teachers and staff are available to help with the transition process from home to school, and to help ease the stress families may face during this process. We regularly update our curriculum to coordinate with Cambodian standards and develop enrichment programs that meet the needs of our children. The school's web site and facebook page help to facilitate open communication between teachers and parents. We encourage parents to be active in their child's education by participating in school functions and celebrations, class trips, birthday parties, and special presentations.

Teachers also encourage parent involvement by asking parents to read stories, help with projects, talk about their careers, and volunteer in classrooms in many other ways whether it is chaperoning on field trips, participating in craft activities or offering insight on how to best improve our school. We value your advice and hope to work as closely with you and your children as possible.

Upon arrival at school, parents or guardians must present their GIS ID card to the school security guard for verification. Your child will only be released from school to those listed on the Registration Form. If someone other than the designated persons will be picking up your child, the school must receive advanced notice of the change. Children WILL NOT be released to anyone other than the designated guardians without prior permission. GIS reserves the right to refuse a child's release from school if all required documentation is not presented upon request.

Notification of a new pick up must consist of the person's full name, address, telephone number, relationship to the child and other pertinent information that will help identify the person. Picture ID and other proof of identification from that person will be required BEFORE releasing your child. This is a security measure for all involved and parents will be notified immediately if someone not on the list comes to pick up their child. Please take the time to discuss any custody issues relating to your children as their security is of the utmost importance to us.
